I just built my computer. Its a 4790K, asus 97 delux, 780 ti and ssd and everything. it is suppose to be fast, and it is when its getting startet. But everything has a small startup time. Like moving a window on the desktop, it takes 2 sec before it starts moving fluidly. Switching tabs, scrolling in Chrome and so on.
What is also really slow is to extract zip files. From one ssd to an other ssd maxes out at 80mb/sec.
I come from mac so I have nothing to compare it to but it just feels sluggish compared to mac.
Could something be wrong, could my GPU be flawed. Because I can not imagine that the windows experice could be so far behind?
Side note, is there an easy what to make it look better because now its butt ugly?
Do you have all your drivers installed and up to date? It may be the motherboard.
I find Windows 8 to be as responsive as OSX but slower than most Linux interfaces.
What SSD's do you have? Because many SSD's on the market have quite low read speeds
I have an Samsung 840 Evo 250 gb.
All drivers should be up to date. I got three devices that Windows cant find:
Ethernet Controller
PCI Simple Comunications controller
SM Bus Controller
Do the motherboard need drivers to? Should I install everything asus got (http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z97DELUXE/HelpDesk_Download/)?
How could I check if there is something wrong with the motherboard.
I might have exaggerated a bit on the slowness, but it is quit annoying.
...and unziping is 80mb/sec at best. It is often around 5-10mb/sec
I would install just the core stuff like for the NIC, sound, storage and the motherboard itself. Also check the the firmware on your ssd
Yes its getting better, I maxed the Nvidia settings and installed the Samsung ssd hardware.
Sorry for being a beginner but downloading the stuff for the mobo:
Audio is Sound
Storage is Asmedia SATA Controller Driver V2.0.8.1 for Windows 7/8/8.1 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL)? or is it engough with the Samsung Software?
NIC is?
Drivers for mobo is Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility V10.0.17 for Windows 7/8/8.1 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL)?
thanks
Dont worry I think I fix it all now.
Thanx allot!
Glad everything is working :)
