Hi,
I have a problem that i can’t seem to figure out. I have read the manual and dozens of forum-threads without finding an answer.
My issue is that i’m not able to get Shadow Copy to work for “home folder shares”.
I have a dataset configured to act as storage for homefolders (mnt/tank/userdata). Share type is Windows and permissions is set to AD group domain users.
I have created a SMB share pointing to this dataset with the “Use as home share” option.
This works as intended, domain user get their own network folder with correct permissions.
On this data set i have enabled a periodic snapshot task, running every 30 min between 09:00 and 21:00 and snapshots will be kept for 36 hours. On the smb share i have also enabled this snapshot task.
But a user can not see any “previous versions” of files or folders in their “home folder”.
I’m a bit clueless to what i can have missed in my setup of this.
Here is the output of this share from the smb4.conf file:
valid users = %U
path = “/mnt/TANK/Userdata/%D/%U”
comment = Home Directories
printable = no
aio write size = 0
veto files = /.snapshot/.windows/.mac/.zfs/
writeable = yes
browseable = no
access based share enum = no
fruit:metadata = stream
fruit:resource = stream
shadow:snapdir = .zfs/snapshot
shadow:sort = desc
shadow:localtime = yes
shadow:format = auto-%Y%m%d.%H%M-36h
shadow:snapdirseverywhere = yes
vfs objects = shadow_copy2 zfs_space zfsacl fruit streams_xattr
hide dot files = yes
guest ok = no
nfs4:mode = special
nfs4:acedup = merge
nfs4:chown = true
zfsacl:acesort = dontcare
Any tips is very much welcome.
