[solved]Moved ram and now PC wont post

so i took out the ram out and now the PC wont post, why? is the same old ram that worked 30min ago and i dont think i damaged the ram on anyway

You probably seated the RAM stick in the wrong slot, most motherboards require you populated the slots in a certain order.

As an example, my motherboard has this slot config:

 | | | |
 | | | |
 | | | |
B1 A1 B2 A2

And this config is a must:

1 stick - A1
2 stick - A1, A2
3 stick - A1, A2, B1
4 stick - all

It feels like something might be missing from this story.

Why did you take the RAM out? You did nothing else to the computer?

Fixed my dad’s pc recently, he’d got a processor upgrade but it didn’t work, put back old processor and it still didn’t work… He’d bent some of the CPU socket pins and it looked like a ram error.

In the end managed to straighten the pins enough to get it to boot up but only one set of RAM sockets was working, so it’s running single channel - ultimately not worth my time to painstakingly fix socket pins on a third gen i7.

this is another user error … i took the ram out to test on another pc and when i placed the ram back i did not place that on the same slot, when starting the bios show the f1 f2 option to load defaults or continue because hardware change but i did not see that because the pc was running headless

yes solved by plugging the monitor… duh
