[solved]Motherboard / Drivers

I am using CROSSHAIR V FORMULA-Z was wondering if I could instal its software via usb instead of optical drive. Seems I don't have one with a sata connection (unless I pry it from the xbox 360 lol) and I don't know if / how to hook up an old one with the IDE interface or whatever without a converter... Second off can I just unplug the power to the extra HDDs or do I need to unplug the sata (ribbions) too, when I instal OS?

you can download the drivers from the asus website put them on a USB stick and install them in windows, thats no problem at all. you don´t need the cd for it. you could also copy the entire cd on a usb stick on a diffrent computer, and then install the drivers and software from that usb stick.

but i recommend to download the drivers from the asus website, so you have the newest upto date ones. and put the on a usb stick. thats totaly fine. you realy don´t need a optical drive.

thank you and just got back to this to update that It's already up and running :D I for some reason was in a haze and thought I would need to do drivers before OS idk why

okay thats great :) thanks for letting me know, so i can close this topic
