[SOLVED] Keyboard/Mouse problems on Ubuntu 15.04

I've been using Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 for a while now and am experiencing some odd problems with the keyboard and mouse. Ever since I started dual-booting Ubuntu with Windows 8.1, my mouse and keyboard have stopped working as I reboot from Windows into Ubuntu. They don't even get recognized by the BIOS during POST and the only way to get them working again is by turning off/on the PSU. This issue seems to be fixed in the system update I applied yesterday, but now the keyboard doesn't get recognized by Ubuntu and the mouse freezes when I try to resume from suspend. I think it may have to do with the kernel update I applied, but I'm not sure. By the way, I'm not having any problems with Windows.

I looked around for solutions in the askubuntu and tom's hardware forums and found that people using the Z87 Pro have had mouse/keyboard issues similar to mine and so have some people on Ubuntu 15.04 with the latest Linux kernel updates. As a result, I'm not sure if this is an Asus problem or a Linux kernel problem.

I tried reinstalling the input device drivers through apt, but that didn't help. My UEFI is up to date. I also made sure the legacy USB support option was enabled in the UEFI. Also read somewhere that it might be a USB power management issue, but I'm not sure how to fix it if that's the case.

System Specs:
CPU: i7 4770K
MB: Asus Z87 Pro (UEFI up-to-date)
HDD: 120GB Hyperx 3K (Windows 8.1 install) + 2 TB Seagate Barracuda (Windows + Ubuntu storage), 1TB Seagate Barracuda (Ubuntu install)
Keyboard: CM Quickfire TK
Mouse: Corsair M65
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming (using up to date proprietary drivers)

Any and all help will be much appreciated, since I need my linux install working for classes this coming fall.

Same here with Xubuntu 15.10, kernel 4.0.5 with 2 SSD one with windows the other linux
I have a:Asus z87 pro and Intel i5 CPU

When I switch back and forth systems keyboard and mouse won't boot up and the onboard ethernet card also.

I found that if I wait around 10-15 seconds while the PC is closed it will boot up normaly.

Still waiting and looking for a solution myself.

I just tried rolling back to the previous kernel (3.19.0-18) and the suspend issue is resolved. Still have to test what's going to happen when rebooting from Windows into Ubuntu though.

Try disabling usb autosuspend. It has to do with the usb power management in the kernel. i think Ubuntu still has usbcore compiled in the kernel so it would need to be change in the kernel boot parameters. This has the steps to how to do it.

Thanks, I'll look into that.

@darkhorseman91 Thanks, disabling the USB autosuspend fixed the issue! I was able to disable it for my mouse and keyboard only, without affecting my other USB devices.
