[SOLVED] Help with corrupt file recovery . please and thanks

my google-fu is failing me, and then i remember wendell always saying to come on down to the forums! so here we go. of coarse its the one file that i give a shit about, my encrypted keepass password database file. i enter the password and get can not open file corrupt. i have a backup from an earlier date, not sure how many entries since then. is there a way to fix / recreate the file from the old backup and get the new entries? am i boned just use the old backup..? system info: ubuntu 15.10 gnome. 250Gb ssd for os and the ol 2Tb drive from my windows install. the file is on my old ntfs partition. has been working flawlessly since i made the switch to linux. (which being new to linux really impressed me that it can read ntfs no sweat) and now this. thanks in advance -tb

edit: a letter

Useful to tag @Wendell. not sure though how to do it.

where is this file? On a Linux or Windows partition? I'm trying to follow your question but I'm a bit lost

this may help http://keepass.info/help/base/repair.html if that dosn't work comparing the files in a hexeditor may do the trick.

thanks but i wasn't trying to page the master. just maybe some other linux wizards around..

the file is on an old windows partition that im still using on linux. since linux is awesome and reads ntfs i thought i was golden. should i be migrating files to another ext4 partition?

holy shit that worked! thankyou thankyou thankyou!! i never would have thought keepass is so fully featured. excellent! saved my bacon. now! must.back.up.more.diligently.
