So I just bought a new cpu, motherboard and ram and was putting it all together into my old cm storm scout case however the standoff hole is positioned in such an awkward place that I can't screw it in. What do I do? Do I leave the stand off there without screwing it in? Do I take the standoff out? Thanks
Get a smaller philips screwdriver if you can, it will be tougher to screw in. Or just tilt your screwdriver in a way you can slowly screw it in while avoiding the ram clips. Start by doing it by hand (if possible) then switch to screwdriver. Are you screwdrivers magnetized?

Thanks for the reply, I took the fan off to make things a bit easier and get more space but my screwdriver is a bit big I'll look for a smaller one thanks for the advice
Worst case scenario, you won't be able to screw it in.
Don't fret it's ok to leave it unscrewed especially considering how many other screws are in place (leave the standoff there) It's stopping other parts of the board from touching the case)
What cpu and board did you get?
I got an fx 8320e and a gigabyte 970a ds3p

you need to loosen the other screws so you can nudge it into place
