(solved) baffled here... GTX760 stuck at 12Fps Help?

My specs are as follows:

  • CPU: AMD FX6300
  • MOBO: ASRock N68-VS3
  • RAM: 4GB PNY DDR3 1600
  • GPU: EVGA GTX760 2Gb
  • PSU: Raidmax Thunder V2 550W 80+ bronze
  • Case: Raidmax Cyclone
  • OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit

My issue is that no matter what game I launch its stuck at 12fps no less, no more. Even lowering settings doesn't do anything. Was working fine earlier today. This problem started after I booted my computer and went to go play some Ruse.

Please don't copy/paste gibberish from random log file (unless requested to do so). It's annoying, makes your post overwhelming to read, especially for the lazy nerds here (refer to annoying), and not very helpful (as most of it pertains to API libraries)

Now I did find two things unusual:

  • Page File: 2187MB used, 5969MB available
  • Current Mode: 1600 x 900 (32 bit) (77Hz)       Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor      Monitor Model: SyncMaster         Monitor Id: SAM0498        Native Mode: 1600 x 900(p) (59.978Hz)

You're using a lot of pagefile, which can, and often does, tank performance. The other thing is the unusual refresh rate of 77hz, especially if the native is suppose to be 60hz. With some combination of V-Sync and paging, I can see how you can get a consistent 12FPS.

Does this issue occur in other games? Or just Ruse? And what monitor do you have?

You might be using the onboard graphics instead of your 760. try disabling it in the nvidia driver setup.

no my on-board graphics couldn't even run one of these games. And sorry for the dumpfile thing. My monitor is sync-master 2033sw and your right, I overclocked my monitors refresh rate to 77mhz. But I'm not sure what the other settings you mentioned were.

Try reinstalling drivers and rebooting the computer.

tried that already. I gave up and just re-installed windows.... Re downloading my games now to see if that did the trick.
