[Solved]Asus X99-A Overclocking confusion

I'm trying to overclock my i7-6800k via the bios, but whenever I change the settings called "Core Ratio Limit" it changes the "Target CPU Turbo-Mode Frequency" not the "Target CPU Frequency" which is what I want to change. So my question is how can I change the target frequency instead of the turbo-mode frequency?
Where is the multiplier setting located?

Mobo: Asus X99-A
CPU: i7-6800k

Haswell-E/Broadwell-E operate off boost states in overclocking. Set the cores to your intended ratio then run a test in the OS to give them load, you should see your overclock.

Oh okay. I changed the ratio from 38 to 39 but the cpu only boosts to 3.8(Factory boost speed) not 3.9. Why is it doing this? Needs more voltage? Also is there some way to force boosts clocks always? The cpu doesn't seem to boost unless it's around 95%-90% usage. Can I make it boost more often?

change too
per core grouping
ive got the same line of mobo as you
i can pop to bios and make a quick tutorial if you like?
you should also just have the tpu option
TPU is asus automatic overclocking
in my case TPU1 = air fan cooler
TPU 2 = watercooling presets
or XMP mode

the thing you have circled in red

the 1 core raitio limit ect
is basically saying

when you have 1 core at turbo the max speed =
or when you have 2 ccores turbo mode the max speed is =
ecore
4 core
ect ect
i dont use that mode
i just tune "by all cores" (all cores are set the the same speed)
or "by specific core" (each individual core can be manually set to whatever speed)

Where's the "per core grouping" option located? A tutorial would be helpful. Fyi I'm coming from an AMD overclocking background
These are my current settings:

in your photo
one line above your mouse
"syncch all cores"

that should have the option

synch all cores itself is the by all cores option
so your good there

lemmi grab my phone real fast ill shoot a small video

uploading a vid to dropbox from the phone and then to youtube
for some reason after this new copy of win 10 my phone refuses to pop up as a usb stick .... no clue why

its uploading on youtube now

Okay sounds good.

upload complete
its available at the default 360p
but it will resolve up to 4k the longer youtube has it

What's your bios version?
Notice your bios settings shows a cpu core ratio setting not a cpu core ratio limit which is what my bios only shows.

uhhh 801 ?
i think the beta form MY board is 801
its the newwest version for my system as of like a day ago

try just clicking into tpu1 and letting it do its thing

What's your board?
It is on TPU1 check the image above.

click tpu and it should ask you if you want to run hit yes

ROG Strix X99 Gaming
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132822
same generation as your mobo

so select XMP mode then click on tpu1 and hit yes

select the line that says AI OVERCLOCK TUNER
and select XMP

you should also have a line that says "overclocking presets"
you can try clicking into that and selecting your cpu

AI OVERCLOCK TUNER only has two options auto, and manual that's it. No XMP option.

hm thats strange...
ok

can you pop up some more screenshots of your options ?

in your own screenshot here at the bottom you can see it talking about the option for XMP
in the details line of diologue because you have the AI TUNER line highlited

I solved it. I had to update the bios and change the setting "CPU Core Ratio" to "By specific core" now all cores are running at full speed all time. Thanks for the help.

@Fouquin Your incorrect.

Do you happen to know what a safe temp/voltage for a i7-6800k would be?

what type of cooling solution do you use?
with my crazy water system i never want to see more then 55c

on air id expect to stay under 75c

once you puch above 4.3 ghz your cpu really starts putting out alot more heat

i try to modify the core voltage to the lowest point before it will crash in benchmarks

AIO liquid cooler H110i GTX.
I think the safe temp is 80C

all cores at 42 and the good core at 43
default voltage that my system gave me was 1.375V
too much for my tastes

i backed mine all the way off that default setting

down to 1.275v

lesss core voltage = less heat output
you will crash out eventually with lower and lower settings tho
just play with it for a day and find your cpus "sweet spot"
