[SOLVED] Advice on Thermal Probe Placement

Hey all,

I’m wanting to do some specific before/after thermal testing of my system. My motherboard came with a thermal probe sensor and so did my Aquacomputer Octo controller. I know what I’m going to do with the Octo’s probe (tape it in front of the intake fans for room ambient readings), but what I want to do with the motherboard probe is get an internal case temperature and I’m not sure on the best placement for this.

I was thinking of using a toothpick to tape the probe standing off of my AIO pump top and securing with polyimide tape to get it as centered as possible, but if there is a better spot in the case/idea for mounting I am open to suggestions. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Figured it out. The motherboard thermal probe had rather rigid wires, so I was able to just route it around the NVMe/Chipset heatsinks, gave it a slight, gentle bend and taped it to the AIO pump top. No toothpick needed.
