Ok so I FINALLY got my pc finished and heres a list of the specs: Specs
The GPU ended up being a few days late, so until that came in I installed the intel CPU graphics drivers and played on those for the few days for league and such and it worked great. The the 980Ti came in and well I tried to play again. Btw this is all at 1080P on a 24" 144Hz (set to 120Hz) monitor. The 980Ti gets me like 500ish FPS in league of legends when I have the cap off but i limit it to 120 because I want smooth gameplay and not to run the card so hard. Then I fired up tomb raider and thats when I noticed the temps. Using speedfan I watched as I ran the maxed out tomb raider benchmark (forgot to turn on FPS monitor, will do soon) and the temps climed but stopped at 84 degrees C. Now I know this is HOT and I plan to watercool within the next 6-10 months, but why is it so hot with the airflow I have into the case and the fact that it feels lackluster for the 980Ti to stop at that heat. Like I dont know if it is actually stuttering but when it hits that mark it seems to lose some of its smoothness and just... I dont know. I did install the drivers Nvidia recommended for the 980Ti too so thats probably ok. Has anyone had any experience with this and might know a way to drop temps/reduce the possible throttle? I am extremely happy with this as is but the heat concerns me and I know it wont last as long with this constant heat. I need to test again for temps in League of Legends and CSGO because those are what I am playing 24/7 when Im not at work and I dont want something to go wrong. BTW the CPU temps have never gone above 65 and that was with prime 95 running it at 100% load for 10-15 minutes so I know there IS air being moved but the GPU seems to not take any advantage from it.
P.S. I forgot to say the CPU has a slight quick and dirty 4.3 base clock overclock just so you know the whole image.
