Solus 1.0 is out, what do you think?

Solus 1.0 codenamed Shannon, a Linux distribution built from scratch that’s using its own desktop environment named Budgie, has been released by Solus Project and is now ready for download.

This release ships with the latest version of budgie desktop 10, powered by linux kernel 4.3, introduce the raven sidebar that allow user to manage the notifications, applet and customize desktop.

wow, its another demo OS trying to ape existing operating systems

I do not get the point of this distribution. The desktop environment can easily be installed on another distro, and the pre-installed apps are mostly GNOME default apps.

It's pretty, but it does not look usefull.

Guys from Jupiter Broadcasting seem to like it, but I honesty see no appeal in using such a niche distro.

I actually went to the Jupiter Brod. video based on your statement. Thanks for that, but now I'm less interested. It just confirmed everything I thought when I saw the video.
