Solid Wireless Headphones?

So, I put up a thread in head fi but I figured I’d see what you guys thought here as well. Right now I have a pair of on-ear Sennheisers (they fold up like a butterfly, just can’t remember their name) and a pair of RHA earbuds. However, the left earbud seems to be dying (I’ve checked) and I just don’t really use the Sennheisers that much, so I decided to look at getting a pair of wireless headphones.

My brother has the Parrot Zik 2.0, and while nice, they are too expensive. I’m sort of looking for something in the $100-150 range, and I mostly listen to EDM/hip-hop (though I do have all genres). I am currently looking at the Satechi Aluminum Bluetooth but am open to suggestions.

Why do you want wireless? Im not being critical of the choice, but I need to know where, how and why you are using wireless to recommend a good pair.
How far from the base station?
Battery life?
Over ear or earbud?
Closed system wireless or bluetooth to multiple devices?
Audiophile quality or just something decent that works well?
Budget?

So I was mainly aiming to use these as sort of an everyday driver (walking to class, sitting in a car, etc.) and so portability is an important factor for me, hence why I decided to look at a bluetooth set. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'base station' so I won't comment on that yet.

As for battery life, as long as it will last a day then that's A-OK as far as I'm concerned (I'll never come close to that level of listening in a day anyway). If you have recommendations for both over-ear and earbud, then I'll gladly listen to them, though I created this thread with over-ear in mind.

I'd like it to be a closed system, though I'm not sure what the difference is between wireless and bluetooth. Most likely they will only ever be paired to my phone. The 'snob' in me wants to say audiophile quality but I'm pretty sure that will easily put me out of my price range of about $100-150.

OK so a closed system would be headphones that are paired with a base station and cannot be manually paired with anything else. Sennheiser make a few good ones but they are for at home listening and the base station uses mains power.

For wireless bluetooth in ear you cant beat Jaybird Bluebuds X

MKBHD does a solid review here

If you want over ear I would try Sony - these have up to 30 hours playback and are bluetooth with NFC

Don't know if you still want advice as this is a month ago, but the innerfidelity wall of fame is a pretty solid updated list for all types of headphones. Perhaps this will still help in future purchases. :)

Thanks! I ended up getting a pair of Satechi Aluminum Wireless but I'll for sure keep that list in mind.
