hi guys,
i watching prices and this is my build i want. is it a good one?
prices are bit differnt in the netherlands. 280x is 50$ cheaper than a 7970.
the main thing is the gpu. 280x toxic or 280x gigabyte windforce? toxic is €289 and windforce is €260.
love dutch prices :). toxic in vs is 370$, that's crazy.
mobo is good right? asus is the best in my opinion but there is a gen 3 board but is the board still good in the build or is there a big differnce?
gonna overclock it to 4.5ghz and overclock the gpu as far as i can under 80. what is the max power consuption if it uses 2x8 pin?
planning on crossfire and i know i need a better psu, and when it is needed a h100i or something like that. so i can hit that 4.9-5.2ghz.
dutch prices are
fx 8350: €168,90
asus sabertooth 99fx r2.0: €143.89
sapphire r9 280x 3gb gddr5 toxic: €289
wd 500gb: €44,45
nzxt tempest 410 elite: not availble, €75? a corsair 200ris €50 which is also good with me
cooler master hyper 212 evo: €24,95
g.skill ripjawsx d3 1866-899 cas 8 1866mhz: €78,20
xfx pro 550w: €52
gigabyte windforce 280x: 262,90 but still dropping every day
someone wants to help me?
Looks all good to me except the PSU. I would go for something in the 650-750W range as that would leave the door open for adding a second GPU down the road.
I have the Gigabyte Windforce Radeon 7950 and absolutely love it. Thus, I would recommend the new Windforce 280X (which is essentially a beefed up 7970). For that price you won't find anything better.
thanx, are the fans high quality? and the the other stuff of the card? it is pretty low priced.
i was going for the windforce 7950 at first but the 280x is almost the same price. can you overclock it? i don't know if the cooling is good enough but probably yes and are the materials good quality so they have the japanese stuff that have like 40 years lifetime instead of 8 years?
thanx for the commend btw.
does someone know if i need a sli/crossfire ready psu or is the xfx pro 850 good enough? i can't find which cables it has.
No matter what, you should go for the 280x. It's actually a 7970 Ghz Edition.
My Windforce 7950 overclocked very well and showed really nice improvements of +10-15fps in BF4 beta.
Stock clocks out of the box are 1000mhz GPU and 1250mhz memory. I had it stable at 1150mhz on the GPU and 1450 on the memory. The fans and coolers/heat pipes are all very good quality.
I can't say anything about overclocking the new windforce 280x as I don't know what kind of control they give you on that card, but regardless, the cooling is more than adequate and it'll be a blazing fast card. As already mentioned, it's a tweaked and re-badged 7970ghz edition.
