Looking for a software removal tool for Windows/McAfee. Personally don’t use Windows much. Have a friend that has McAfee driving them nut’s, need to help them get it removed as cleanly as possible. Haven’t tried removing at all yet because in the past these types of programs were good at embedding themselves in the the OS/registry, special removers like these were needed, not sure if that is still the case or not.
Cant you just reformat? This usually happens with prebuilt systems.

Format to remove one app seems a little… nuclear!
How about cCleaner? By a company like pirtek or some such?
He/She has to do it once and dont have to worry about the residuals.
When Anti-Malware behaves just like a malware itself…

https://www.mcafee.com/support/?articleId=TS101331&page=shell&shell=article-view (search for MCPR) but that’s the last resort if it’s not possible to remove using Add/Remove Programs. Do note that the Microsoft Store version needs to be removed using Microsoft Store.
You could try the I/O bit Uninstaller app, there is a free/nagware version along with the paid version.
It supports removing Windows Store Apps along with normally installed apps.
