We’re all in this together, metalhead or not.
Confront them first, but then
Fight the demons inside you
Fuck “stardom”. This is life in modern society, even twenty five-ish years ago.
Out of the womb and into the light
It comes in purity
Arrive with peace
Untouched by man’s disease
Awake and not awareFeel the soulburn
PathfinderThey teach him right but he knows they’re wrong
He sees in silence
They tell him “stop”, but he wants to move on
Spread the wings to fly themHe hopes for someday soon
And the world is like a shiny diamond
The way it glitters if you polish it right
And if the light should turn and leave you blinded
Take the dream and give it one more tryFeel the soulburn
Papa says no time to loose
Go fast if you wanna make the headline news
The road to stardom can be painful and long
In the spotlight the heat is onYou’ll be playing in the fire
And the world is like a shiny diamond
The way it glitters if you polish it right
And if the light should burn and leave you blinded
There’ll be treasures on the other sideAnd the piper will play till sundown
As the preacher prays for it to rise
And if the wind should blow and leave you stranded
Sailing ships will always pass you byFeel the soulburn
Pathfinder
Into the storm a child is born
Pathfinder
They’ll make you burnPathfinder
And the world is like a shiny diamond
The way it glitters if you polish it right
But if the light should turn and leave you blinded
Take the dream and give it one more tryAnd the piper will play till sundown
While the preacher prays for it to rise
And if the wind should blow and leave you strandedTake a breath and give it one more try
Or wind it back another twelve years.
(IMO Geoff Tate’s an asshole and Queensrÿche’s a pretty mixed bag but Chris DeGarmo’s chord progressions are stellar here. And you can tell where False Walls came from.)
New Zeeland band singing in Tongan. By the look of it they do the same thing as Maori and end all words on a vovel. Do all Polynesian languages do that?
That is a fantastic question of which I would love to know the answer to, as well. I believe Hawai’ian is the same, though I genuinely never thought about it until right now.
Stumbled upon this because it was a recommendation after Shepherds Reign.
Edit: Linguistically I would imagine most Polynesian languages are as similar as Germanic (Nungara are from Germany, it just reminded me) ones, most of the differences being dialectic.
Never got to see them live, but I remember when this EP came out. The owner at the local record store ordered 4 copies (edit: pre-order) simply because I special ordered it for myself. As much of a douche that he was, he knew his business, he knew his employees and he knew his customers.
Still applicable, for any “newbs” to this life.
I suck. A lot, but I remember being 17 heading into the record store for work and the aeronautical science majors at the college twice my age were always happy to see me, screaming out their car windows as I wore this album’s shirt walking up to the shop.
