Nik Nockturnal did a roundup of less known metal bands and I found this one that SLAPS
At first based on the name they were japanese but they’re from Santiago, Chile
It’s a Gothenburg kind of day. Just going to share my favourite songs from each album that I own (sometimes it will be 2+ because I can’t decide a favourite).
I love Johan Liiva, but Angela Gossow was a fucking power house in a tiny package. Metal’s own Pat Benatar.
Carcass cover, which Michael Amott used to be in.
Edit: I hate hate. The planet needs to be cleansed again by a space rock.
I personally contribute this to when my Grandmother died. Not a perfect woman by any means, but she was the best friend that I ever had.
Did you know that In Flames and Dark Tranquillity switched vocalists after their respective first releases?
Mikael Stanne on vocals with In Flames:
Anders Fridén on DT’s first full length:
Edit: Missed this one, but it was my first introduction to In Flames.
Excellent Depeche Mode cover
Edit: Forgot an important one.
Never got that into Soilwork… not that they’re bad, because they’re not, but they weren’t a part of my teenage years at all. Was never recommended them, didn’t even know they existed until my late teens after I started working at the local record store.
They’re an honorable mention, I suppose.
My absolute favourite band, tied with Maiden, Priest, X Japan and Lost Horizon for number one. Helped me through the hell of teenage years, made me feel not alone for the first time in my life at the physical age of 14 years with a mental age on the cusp of 70.
(The first CD that I bought with my own money. It was the Japanese version.)
I kind of stopped keeping up with the entire metal scene around 2005 after I quit working at the local record store. All the bands that were coming out sounded exactly like some other band that came before them. That’s not how to honour artistic influences, that’s just copying.
That being said, there’s definitely some awesome stuff out there now and I’m rediscovering that spark that I used to have for music.
Slipping in edits where they belong based on Album release/Track number.
History is repeating itself in the worst possible way, and I’m genuinely looking for a positive light other than just headbanging and air guitaring/bassing/drumming.
Swedes covering an entirely different genre of Swedish metal.
(playlist) One of my all time favourite albums. Period. That last track (Swedish Steel) says it all.
I usually sit through the demigod album of behemoth.
Then I probably give slaying the lamb and ten rings of purgatory(not 100% sure of this title.) from bloid red throne a listen.
Brackish by Kittie
Deeper by Jigsaw Youth
Kiss the Ladder by Fleshwater
Kittie I think gets swept under the rug for a lot of people by larger artists covering (stealing) their songs
Give them a listen, I think if you’ve been around the metal space Spit will sound familiar
Sucks
Great comment.
Would you like to share what you think is good or is that one word response all we’re graced with
I belive MattiP knows meaning Little insider
But this probably explains a lot

Guess… Primus got supplanted?
