So what is a "middle class" GPU and CPU combo?
Nvidia GTX 960/970 on sale, and a intel i5 6400
That will get you gaming at a very decent price.
CPU: Intel i5 6500
GPU: GTX 970 GTX 960 GTX 1070 when released R9 390 R9 380
That would be a pretty good combo but it also depends on what your going to be using this system for. For gaming this should be great.
You just spanned the mid range from 170$ 960/380 up to 500$ 1070 when it comes out...
The Nvidia *60 or *70 series card or AMD R9 *80 or *90 card along with a current or one generation old I5. Your really just looking for a $200-245 processor and a $200-400 graphics card. When you drop below the $200 point you usually drop off in performance pretty heavily when it comes to gpu's, but above $400 you start to see diminishing returns for your money. When it comes to strict gaming, you really don't need much more than an I5. Some people might need an I7 but thats only in cases where your talking multiple graphics cards and games that are cpu dependent. Otherwise, I5 is really the way to go.
What kind of budget does "middle class" mean?
id say 700 ish for everything
Well, i5 and the new 480 whenever it comes out...
Currently - i5 and the 390 are great combo...
