So..no love for Syndicate?

ok, so did anyone ever play the game Syndicate? I didn't play the retro, original title, I only played the newest FPS one which came out early this year. But hell, I am loving the setting and style of the game sooo much that I think with a change in plot and the game engine it would be pretty badass (it is already kinda badass).

I know I might not be old enough to say much about this title, but I heard a lot of good things about this game in the retro times and I think it deserves to be revived. I mean, "Business is War", AGENTS, how freaking cool is that?! Cool characters, weapons, architecture design, interesting gameplay, amazing world..with a little twist on the plot and graphics, what's more do you want from a cyberpunk game?

The game sales didn't turn out great, but who knows, maybe it will be a decent movie material. What do y'all think?

I have the new one and it's awesome!  My friends came over about a week ago and saw me playing it.  They immediately freaked out going "omfg what game is that???"

Needless to say they all now own it :)  but yeah it's a great game, I love how you can go about each situation in different ways

I played the original Syndicate way back and really really loved. I had an open mind towards the new Syndicate but bad reviews kept me away from it really. I can still really really recommend the old game if you haven't tried it as it is still a lovely game to play.

As for movie material it is hard to say. Games and movies have never worked very well, but the setting is there, although I believe the Blade Runner movie has the same atmosphere as the game, so if you haven't watched Blade Runner it is a movie I can recommend as well.

if they like dupstep, wait till they hear the music =) I think the game is pretty linear though, which I think they should let us explore the world more, but I guess that really came down to the budget..

I agree, I wonder if anyone can port it smart phones, so people can start playing these more sophisticated games instead of others. like *cough* angry birds

but honestly new pc games kept me from playing retro games really, so a smart phone port would be ideal.

I know game movies usually turn out bad, but I never give up on these kinds of movies. Most of them have awesome settings but suck at terrible acting and plot. I watched Blade Runner but damn I barely remember the story, and yes I agree Syndicate will have similar atmosphere, with a little more life and daylight. =)

I didn't care for it all that much. It had an interesitng idea and setting but I feel they went about it in the wrong way. Here they give us this cyber punk world yet they don't give us downtime to explore it. I would have loved to have experienced the world and walked around the city like in Deus EX: Human Revolution. Being able to talk to different people.

Plus, the campaign was way too short as well with no real meaningful characters.

Syndicate (the new one) was a decent game. I don't think it quite lived up to its potential though. I would definitely play it again though.

The FPS was crap, was a generic boring short FPS that brought nothing of note or value, the only innovations were useless in the game. It also managed to piss off all the old Syndicate fans as it had nothing to do with the original.

I'm a huge fan of the original, the sequal was pretty cool in a nifty way, but the FPS didn't piss me off, but it was drab and short yes, but not terrible for a 5 buck game, I've played FAR worse in my time.
