So, a while ago i had the idea to try dasy chain some older mobos to gether useing eathernet cables and agp risers. If you can't guess, it didn't work. So i need to know, does anyone know:
1. Can it done?
2. If so how?
3. If i can do it ( with newer stuff) would it be worth it?
So if anyone can do it, or knows how to do it, let me know and i will try to build it, and then see what i can do with it.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish. Are you trying to make a cluster? Perhaps a dual socket motherboard would be a better option.
Well, i dont know what it will be, at the time it was an idea that i wanted to build and sell, I'm trying to beta test it with some older parts, so no, i dont want a dual socket mobo ( well i do but thats another post)
I'm just not sure what advantage a computer with multiple motherboards would have over a computer with one dual socket motherboard. I think it would be a neat project if you can do it, but I don't think you would be able to market it. It would take up more space, make more heat etc.
the main idea was to beta test, i dont know if i will market it, but i want to see igf it can be done.
You can do it like a two PC cluster but both mobos will need a processor, RAM and a NIC
