I about choked at the knee deep river comment. What do you think the actual performance boost will be? So far LTT and you guys have really only gone into it, but I haven't really looked at anyone else to be honest.
Do you think its as genuine as they put out or are they rumpling our stiltskins?
Edit: Do you think this will take more away from AMD? Do you think this will hurt driver performance early on the 900 series? Will this actually be able to handle VR / AR (do you think). Obviously you're on NDA, which I think is stupid, but an opinion is ok :P
Yes, they have already been raped and pillaged for the past few years by Nvidia and if they can stick to the prices they quoted (my friend from Overclockers UK has said they can sell them that cheap) then I will be selling both my 390xs from my gaming rig so that will mean both my Workstation and Gaming rig will be AMD free
Well current gen GPUs can so why would a next gen GPU not
In paper all that was said in the launch event is "nice" wether or not that holds true or not will have to wait for when they actually have these cards on their hands and are able to test them out. While Nvidia went all out for performance with the first wave of pascal, it is likely that amd will go for "mainstream" with the first polaris wave if the rumors hold true, it will be very interesting to see if the rumored to be cheaper options from polaris will come close to the performance of pascal.
The only thing to take from this at least at the start is we have to wait until the cards both from amd and nvidia are actually in the wild and are tested with a wide variety of games and compare their price points.
Adored tv did make very interesting predictions as to which way both companies were going only time will tell if they are accurate.
Obviously this is nice, if what they say is true. It is twice as powerful as the 980 at the same price.
Who wouldn't like this? Lol
But as before, I think third party benchmarks are necessary. Their stats are probably embellished a bit, so it's most likely 75% better than the 980ti. I'm happy either way...
