So i overclocked my CPU and it did outstanding

So i overclocked my Athlon x4 860K so it can have better single thread Preformance and i think it did will in pass mark and clock speed. I was able to bump up my CPU clock from 3.7GHz to 4.5GHz and my single threaded preformace went from 1466 to 1775 :) so about a 400 point diff :) oh and i got a new cooler. A Evo 212 but im not seeing the preforman i would think. with my stock cpu cooler it was 114C at max load. and now its about 85C stock clock and 95 OC'd is that normal?

If you were using the stock cooler, the 114C while OC'd would be very normal but I am highly surprised the system did not shut down since the TJ Max should be 105C.
95 is a little hot even for the Hyper 212 EVO. Try to lower your core voltage, stepping down in increments of 0.010V or 0.005V until a point that the system becomes unstable then revert back to the last most stable voltage your CPU could operate at.
The more voltage running through that CPU the hotter its going to get. If the stock clocks are hitting 85 then you most likely need to re-seat the Hyper 212 and re-apply your thermal paste. Make sure your properly followed the instruction to mount the cooler.

The last time I did not correctly mount one of the pieces of the mounting hardware and it resulted in my CPU running at 50C stock idle and now it runs around 30C-34C idle.

EDIT:
I am very curious, what are you using to monitor the temperatures?
If you are using Hardware Monitor from CPUID or even Realtemp, then the you might be getting an incorrect reading of temperature. Try to download the motherboard utility and check those temps. FM2/FM2+/AM3+ in my experience had inaccurate temperatures in different programs. Once I got the motherboard utility the more accurate reading appeared.

Heya

i don't have any OC experience with AMD but alot with Intel, those temps are way to high, you must have either giving it way to much juice or you failed on your cooler installation, idle temps on my very OC'ed intel's cpu's has always been around 38-45 and i try to keep it under 75 at max load, like @Theonewhoisdrunk says start all over raise the clock until et gets unstable, then raise the voltage, then raise the clock until and then voltage keep going until you hit your max temps decided by yourself, i would still keep it under 75 or maybe 80 dont know how much heat your cpu is supposed to max out on.

Best Regards Otto

Yeah its 2actually 35-40degrees idle and 65-70 at full overclocked

AMD temperature reading is a bit of a arcane art.

If you have an AMD-GPU, use AMD Overdrive to monitor temperatures. They do not monitor your direct temperatures, but rather your thermal margin - the difference between your current temperature, and the maximum temperature. Because of this method of monitoring temperatures, sometimes the data the thermal probes through at temperature reading programs comes out screwy.

The maximum core temperature for that processor, if memory serves, is 72C. If your motherboard is worth its salt, and has its safety features enabled, it should automatically shut down to prevent damage.

TL;DR - use AMD Overdrive to monitor temps. If you have Nvidia, try Coretemp.

uhhhhhh............................................................

Yeah definitely use the motherboards utility. For some reason every AMD CPU part did not play nice with any temperature monitors such as Hardware Monitor. If it was surely 178C then the CPU would have been dead by now.

I have no clue what this is?

its just the SSE instructions :P i guess AMD beats Intel like 2 fold in that respect

For a second I thought it was the temperature reading. Never mind.
