So I just finished Life is Strange

That game fucked with me on a level on which I had never been fucked before. Is there anything else like it out there? Also, if anyone wants to talk about Life is Strange itself I'm open to that. I want to know what others who've played it got out of it.

@Destroyed007 I found you a friend

You finished it, so we're a happy trio, so far.

Anyway, @Sir_Prize I think the gameplay is extremely decisive and it digs deep into your cognitive ideas. The mechanics of it just makes your mind go insane. The storyline of it is entirely dramatic on a typical teenager's life and it has the ability to set off the emotional alarms and bells. The graphics is mediocre, so much for a game based off UE3 game engine. It looked like as of DONTNOD had toned down the graphics but the lighting, the reflection and the physics are still what you want from an UE3 game.

IMO though - and this is where @Fragmented_Cat starts to snickers at me - I think the characters are awesome. your 2 "heroines" do have the minds of their childhood and when they know they're all grown up things does get so romantic between them and this is where Square Enix - the publisher of the game - appreciates all the fan arts and cosplays based off this game. You have these 2 girls who has feelings at their surroundings, and when you get to know them more you will know when your feelings towards them starts to bond.

Overall, if you are a storyteller and a person who wants to be in a world of an average teenager's dream, this is the game you would want. For a game studio who has only released 2 games, including this one and with one still in development, this game sure takes the world by storm. No pun intended

I love and hate the decision making. That's probably why I like the game so much. I just get so wrapped up in all the possibilities of each and every decision the game has you make. It wasn't uncommon for me to find myself staring into my monitor with my head in my hands trying to come to a decision for a good five to ten minutes. Any similar experiences on your part, or am I just a mess?

TBH, had I not been given assistance, I'd take my time to make the "right" decision. Inevitably, any decisions you make does have the wrongs regardless.

Another thing I want to add to the gameplay is that it's trying to be an open-world-like environment, but it isn't there yet. I would praise if the sequel does finally live up to the open-word style. Talking about gameplay, you do often see weapons and death threats (physically sometimes), so if there is time to fit more combat features to the sequel, I might be impressed by that. In the 5th episode however, you will get the feeling of wanting to have the entire control of combating in LiS.

I just finished episode one and I'm completely sucked in. Can't wait to go through the next episode!

The world looks really appealing and I wanted to wander around Witcher style but was disappointed just a little by the boundaries.

Oh yeah i finished the game a couple weeks ago. totally fucked me up as well. plenty of great wtf moments.

I haven't played life is strange. But you should read A Brave New World and 1984. They had sort of the same effect on me.

After I did I couldn't stop thinking THINGS ARE NOT OKAY AND THINGS WILL NEVER BE OKAY AGAIN

It only gets better throughout the episodes.

I hope there is a season 2 or something. If not then I hope dontnod makes more games like this.

I kept thinking to myself, "I want more games like this!". So I'm with you on that, hopefully this style of game catches on.

I've been all about these types of games recently. My favorite genre honestly.

I suggest you try Tales from the Borderlands and Oxenfree. Those two are fantastic in terms of presentation; kinda like how Life is strange blended music into things really well. Tales from the borderlands has some of the best intros to episodes EVER. Oxenfree handles conversations really well; it's got my favorite dialogue system in existence. It's also does a really good job of being unsettling for a 2D game.

One of my favorite things about games like this is that it's so easy to play them at any time, they don't require a lot of energy or concentration, yet it's still so intellectually stimulating and entertaining.
