So I just bought a server

Well I decided to buy a server of eBay and I wanted to get some opinions on if it was a good buy or not.

All hdd ports filled with drive blanks except for first port holding the hard drive 250Gb hard drive .

Cost £220 with shipping to my house.

 

If what you plan on running on the server can handle 8/16 threads smoothly, sure, it was a decent buy, but dont expect it to perform as well as a newer processors such as the i5 4690 or heck, even an AMD 8320 (which most likely has higher single core and multi core performance, compared to the 2 Intel E5504 processors). Single threaded applications will also run HORRIBLY on that because of its low clock and how old that chip is. 

Personally, I wouldn't have gotten that server because of how weak it is, and how old those are processors are. But maybe you could bring some life back into it if you are willing to spend a bit more money on better processors... 

Or if you have no use for it, sell it for parts and try to break even.
