So, as some of you know already, i have been thinking about a build for some time now, as, well... it's basically become a necessity at this point as my system is dying. I eventually came to the conclusion that it's better to hold off on the build. I was iffy about everything from the case to certain motherboard restrictions on ITX, and just said 'screw it'. So, with that in mind. I think i may just have the perfect solution. Hopefully, anyway. So i'd really appreciate people with real experience in selling their used PC parts to participate in this thread.
I figured, the best route to take is just wait a little longer, while also increasing my budget. Either till this holiday season, or next summer, and build a system and just go straight to Intel. I had planned on going AMD, but apparently the first Zen processors are coming in October of 2016. I simply cannot wait that long. I figured that getting a Skylake CPU and mobo, and simply TRANSFERRING all of my parts to a new build once PCIE 4.0 is released would be the best solution. Now i know that i won't be able to use my mobo or CPU, so that's where selling those two parts comes in. I want to know how much of a return i'd get if i purchase... let's say a CPU that's $300 and a mobo that's $200 maximum. I'm thinking i could easily ask $350 or $400 after about a year? That's apparently when PCIE 4.0 is coming, 2017.
Also, the thought of Intel simply starting to make Skylake PCIE 4.0 motherboards has crossed my mind. So... could i possibly only have to switch motherboards? Oh... that'd be beautiful.
