lol no they aren’t. I would rather have lidded chips for that anyways I always thought the mac’s being delidded was really stupid.
I read somewhere that using lidded processors could cause some problems with the heatsink applying too much pressure or something, but I have no idea if that’s actually true.
I believe Xeons from that time were soldered, so delidding is an ordeal.
Only the really really high powered ones. These aren’t.
