So I found a Quad Core 1.8GHz Atom Android Tablet.... How do I make it a computer

So I found a Nextbook Ares 8 today and fixed it and it works now. It has android 5.1.1 but with it being an atom based machine shouldn’t it be capable of running windows or linux? How would I go about doing that? I’ve rooted the thing and now have TWRP and all that. Seems to be the same hardware as the Dell Venue 8 as well, so this shouldn’t be too hard I think.

Any ideas?

Looks like you have done all the heavy lifting by rooting the device !

I have actually been looking for a device like this so I can install a terminal and run some fun commands/programs on it.

It looks like you can run linux on it, someone installed Gentoo and Linux Mint

Still working on this. I think I want to go with android after all, but there seem to only be a few refresh images that aren’t even full AOSP. Its just de-gunked nextbook ROM’s. Hmmm.
