Snowden's hometown is about 20 minutes from where I live, and my brother lives less than 2 miles from his old house. I have NEVER heard anything about him on the news, radio, or any form of media other than the internet.
In fact, if it weren't for The Tek I would have know idea who he is. Why is the media ignoring him? Is it not in their political interest? Or is it that the average person doesn't care and just wants to know who won American Idol?
You got it pretty much spot on in the last sentence. Your average person just doesn't care. Also I wouldn't be surprised if the US Gvt. is telling them not to cover it because they're worried the American people might not like it...
Another reason I never watch the news. I don't care about celebrities, and I don't care about politics. Those are the 2 things the news can't shut up about, and the only things they talk about.
Corporate biased media, it's a reality TV circus that never ends. The only "news" they put out is stories that make your 80 year old grandma cower in fear or something ridiculous like "dog saves cat" or something utterly incomprehensible as that.
