Smallest (physical size) SSD Memory Stick

Heat is actually good for flash to a point. Being too cold while writing apparently causes more “wear” and less fully charged cells. Only the controller needs cooling.

That said, I’ve had multiple earlier gen sandisk microusb drives fail. So I’m not keen on them.

Another interesting thing is that usb sticks from decent companies should have some very basic wear leveling, though nothing like a proper SSD.

The Small M.2 Enclosures might be another idea.

Anyone have a recommendations on the m.2 2242 SSD? I did some quick searching and they don’t appear to be very common. I found this one never heard of the brand before.

Vaseky M.2 2242 SATA 256GB

The size is right but I don’t like the cable, one more thing to carry around.

Well then get an m.2 usb case and be done with it.

Thats the smallest I know of. You can’t be horribly picky since you’re looking for something rather niche.

How do you not have a pile of spare cables?

It isn’t that I don’t have a cable it is that I don’t want to carry around a cable in my pants pocket.
