Heat is actually good for flash to a point. Being too cold while writing apparently causes more “wear” and less fully charged cells. Only the controller needs cooling.
That said, I’ve had multiple earlier gen sandisk microusb drives fail. So I’m not keen on them.
Another interesting thing is that usb sticks from decent companies should have some very basic wear leveling, though nothing like a proper SSD.
Anyone have a recommendations on the m.2 2242 SSD? I did some quick searching and they don’t appear to be very common. I found this one never heard of the brand before.
