A friend of mine finally got internet to his house. He asked me for help to build a small rig to push some frames in 1080p. Budget is 800€ (what I overshoot), if you can make it cheaper while not building a bomb, that would be great. So far I got this (Nothing is writen in stone yet): My idea: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/MTVb8K Some basic stuff: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/KyHJbj
That looks quite a bit better. The only concern I have is if 2 cores will last. The GPU is another big contruction zone. Maybe the Nitro will drop in price until he purchases the parts or the R9 Fury will drop down to 380€ again (that happend ~3 weeks ago). I will pick up some WD blues 1TB at a local store for 40€ each on monday.
The FX6300 would have been a good choice four years ago, but its performance levels just aren't up to par. You can't upgrade it much past an 8350, its single-core performance is sub-par, and its multithreaded scaling is lower than a Phenom X6 1090T. It doesn't even technically count as a full six-core, because it has shared cache and shared floating-point units. The FX chips are also limited to PCIe Gen2. You'd be better off going with an i3-6100, a B150 motherboard, and then upgrading it down the road. The i3 is a bloody fast CPU for what it is.
