Slow Rendering with PD11 and Vegas 12 Pro

Hey Community!!!

So i have been uploading to youtube as of lately.

But im having issues with rendering, id like to put a few videos up per day but i cant render fast enough...

I started out with Vegas 12 Pro, took around 40 mins to render a video of around 20 to 30mins in length.

Then all of a sudden a 20min video took 1 to 2 hours, i have tried power director also, but im getting slow render times with that also, ideas on the issue?

My specs are as follows..

Intel i5 2500 3.3Ghz

8GB Corsair RAM 1600Mhz 

XFX Radeon HD 6870 1GB 

G1 Sniper M3

id expect with my specs they would be a little bit faster, maybe thats just me, with Power Director i use the Hardware acceleration same in vegas.

Ideas people? or is this just the way it is?

check the setting of the render codec, make sure it's set to use opencl. it sounds like what I would expect cpu-only times to be on an i5.

I have exactly the same setup and i have the same render speed, maybe its normal....?

no, it's not. I was rendering 20 min 1080p fraps recordings in 40 min, cpu only, with an i7-920. CUDA on a 260 shaved 15min off that.

a 1080p 1 hr vid took 4.5 hrs to process from uncompressed to h.264. again, cpu only

i told PD11 to run on GPU and it still took neally 40 mins, also Vegas is set to render with OpenCL and that still takes ages to do!! major issues here lol
