Slow litecoin mining speed on AMD 7950

Hey tek syndicate.

I have my inspired to set up a litecoin miner thanks to ztrain's post.

But I'm getting low Khash rate on my 7950 using reaper. Only about 390 Khash.

My config is this.

  • host notroll.in
  • port 6332
  • user XXXXX
  • pass XXXXX
  • protocol litecoin
  • worksize 256
  • vectors 1
  • aggression 20
  • threads_per_gpu 1
  • sharethreads 32
  • lookup_gap 2
  • gpu_thread_concurrency 21712

Did I do something wrong. The only reason I say that is because other people are getting over 500 Khash on a 7950.

Just a side note when I bitcoin mine I get around 515 Mhash.

Thanks

Corey

What version of reaper are you using?  I've found cgminer ( http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/ ) to be more effective if you're already using 13b4 and want to try a different miner.  Also, scrypt mining always seems more sensitive to the driver version you have installed.  Some seem to slow it down and others break it completely.

Thanks for the fast reply I'm using reaper 13 beta 4. I'm using 8.921.2 RC11 drivers for my 7950. I will give cgminer a try.

Try using CG miner as stated above, here a link to a GUI you can use for CG miner or Reaper

Also try dropping you agression to 17-18 and maybe play with the thread concurrency, i know reaper really like 16384 for me.

Also a lot of the speed will depend on you core clock, so if its at stick dont exprect much more than 500 Khash/s
