I just built a new NAS with the AsRock board that was featured in the recent NAS video. Full specs are as follows:
Motherboard: Asrock C2750 Intel Avaton Motherboard
HDD: 6 HGST 4TB NAS
Memory: 16GB Crucial Unbuffered ECC
Case: SilverStone DS380B
PSU: SeaSonic SS-350SFE 350W
I am getting excruciatingly slow CIFS transfer speeds, about 2 MB/s, both between my friend’s windows machine and my linux box. When this motherboard was first reviewed Wendell claimed that he was able to get 110 MB/s with it in the comments of this post. I have not touched the settings for CIFS so they are all at their default. I am running the most recent stable version of FreeNAS. NFS works perfectly fine, I haven’t tested speed on it but I will as soon as I get home today. Is there some kind of tweaking that I need to do?
