SLI - cards with different memory size

Hey there friends,

Ive been doing some research lately, but i can get a final answer to my question. Ive seen people saying it would work and others that it wouldnt, so i'd like to know the opinion of the tek family about this. I have an EVGA GTX670 FTW+ (4GB GDDR5) on my current rig and im planning on adding another 670 to it this holiday. The thing is: finding another of these FTW+ has become somewhat difficult and when i find one, it is extremely overpriced. Can i get any other GTX670 instead? Considering that i'd either downclock or overclock them so they have the same core and memory clock. Thanks everyone!

EVGA GTX670 FTW+ Specs:

  • Base Clock: 1006MHz
  • Boost Clock: 1084MHz
  • Memory Clock: 1502 Mhz (Effective: 6008MHz)
  • Bus: 256 bit
  • Memory size: 4096 mb GDDR5

As long as the chipsets are the same it shouldn't matter on the memory amount. You should be able to SLI it with any other 670.
