I've owned Skyrim for like 2 years now, but I've never bothered modding it in anyway, I have always admired how good it looks with mods and I have finally decided to get into this.
So what is a very basic pack of mods that enhance the game to look better, deal with bugs, add a bit more cosmetic customization and small stuff like that?
there are the unnoficial skyrim patches (one for the base game, one for every DLC, including the high-res texture pack). I would look at using texture pack combiner and the static mesh improvement mod for improving how the game looks. ENBs are really nice to, but slightly more complicated and very resource intensive.
It really is worth registering with Nexus Mods if you want to enhance your Skyrim experience, as they have so many and their Mod Manager makes modding very simple. Check out a Youtuber called Gopher. He has guides covering the very basics and upwards and you'll be up and running in no time.
I know it can be annoying registering with lots of sites, but if you want to mod Nexus should be one of your exceptions.
