Skylake Build

Hello, I've been thinking now for couple of months to build a skylake build. My main use case is development with decent Linux support. The second case i think I've gotta use the newest version of Kernel to get cpu working.

Here's the parts I've been looking up currently:

Cooler Master:
Hyper 212 EVO LGA2011/1366/115x/775, AM3/3+/2/2+ -CPU Cooler
500W B-series V2 ATX-PowerSupply

Crucial:
250GB BX100 SSD-levy, 2.5", SATA III

Kingston:
8GB(2x4GB) HyperX Fury DDR4 2133 MHz, CL14

Motherboard:

CPU:
Skylake i5-6600K, LGA1151, 3,5GHz, 6MB, Tray

And Fractal Core 2300 ATX case.

Cost is currently 715,60€

Ideas, opinions? I was thinking to pick up Skylake as my CPU because with an older CPU in a year or two I'll require to update a older system to Skylake which means MB, CPU and RAM and that's too much at that point. GPU coming later. But I still don't know if i should go with the K version of the i5, dunno. Sorry, I'm a laptop duude so I'm asking from the pro's.

The build looks OK to me.

I'd personally spend the extra 20€ for the K part. It does have VT-x (as well as the non-K parts) which you might potentially want, and doesn't have SIPP and vPro, which you might potentially not want.

Plus, it gives you the ability to overclock (or underclock), which could prove handy in the future.

Thanks for the response, yea i was thinking the same. The i7 is still too high price because I'm targeting also a budget build that can be expanded in the future. I don't currently play so much but perhaps some low to mid-range GPU would be good enough expansions at later point. Any suggestions?

Is that supposed to be a Cooler Master PSU? Please specify. Last thing you want to do is buy a terrible PSU that will destroy your system.

I would get a -K part unless you really have no interest in overclocking at all.

Yea, I'll do some OC for it to push some more speed from it.

From looking at it, it would seem okay for a generic basic build but since you stated that you wanted to add a GPU in the future and going to overclock, I reccomend getting something a little more sturdy. I did find a review for it.

PSU recommendations:

What GPU do you plan on buying in the future? I could narrow down a better PSU choice for you.

Please don't buy the lower end of GPU market. It is bad value for your money (example test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp6ltBCMDCE ). Something like R9 270 or GTX 950 can actually run games, although it's nothing special.

Thanks for the recommendations. Dunno perhaps something between 200-300€.

Hah just watched that one. Yea not going to pick up any of those...

Build looks good to me.
And yes i would also recommend to go with skylake.
