Hello everyone, I am back with a quick how-to on Bluetooth Tethering on Android 4.4 "Kit-Kat."
There is a bug in Android 4.4 with Bluetooth tethering. When you initiate the Bluetooth Dun with PDANET, or an App just like it; then try to get on the Internet., but guess what? The page doesn't load. This is because Android 4.4 refuses the connection with DUN. Most of the time you would be connected to a WiFi network with an Android Tablet. This is going to be very simple to bypass. All you will need is the Bluetooth Tethering app you use, the phone used for the Internet source and a WiFi network (make sure it's not connected to the internet). For this I actually used the Hotspot feature on my old Motorola Droid 3 from Verizon.
- Go to your WiFi settings connect
- Connect to WiFi network
- Initiate bluetooth tethering
Enjoy.
So now that you are connected to a wifi network, your bluetooth tether should work now. The reason why this is working; you have tricked android to think it is actually connected to the internet via Wifi, hoever you are going over bluetooth instead. I hope this guide helped you guys with Tablets running on Android 4.4 "Kit-Kat" to work around that bug
