So I want to design a keyboard but I don’t really know what tools there are. I know about the key layout editor, but are there other tools?

What part are you wanting to design? A PCB? Hand wire? Case? There are many tools to suggest, but we’d need to know what part you want to design. There’s no “build a keyboard” software that comes with everything.
