Saving is still made server side though, expect to see a fix for that in a near future
Or alternatively since EA/Maxis got embarassed they might just patch the game so offline doesn't work.
The modders will find a way around that too.
On another note: This can't be good for Maxis' reputation. If this was their idea and not EA's it's a complete disgrace as a developer should know better than to screw their customers over like this.
