Welcome to the L1T forums, @Luckinber!

Since the reply before yours was posted to this thread, a thread has popped up over on the techpowerup forums - silverstone cs383?? | TechPowerUp Forums. It only has two comments, both of which are from the thread’s creator but the second comment says-

i got news from silverstone they are releasing the cs383 in march 2025 :D
finaly a case to replace my SilverStone SST-CS380 V2 :p

I’ve been meaning to contact Silverstone to see if I could confirm the info but I’ve been busy with family.

I can’t what to see it!.. assuming you did in fact do the video.

[EDIT] SilverstoneTek has added the Alta D1 to their (always incredibly sluggish) website. I believe the D1 was revealed at the same show / time as the CS383. So fingers crossed that we’ll get more info on the CS383 soon.

There is a case aready out that has all these features/customizeable for alot cheaper(I got mine for free). It’s called toolbox! I think it’s the best case:)

Thanks both @wendell and @HanSolo!

March is exciting, I thinking I can wait till then.

Also very excited to see the video @wendell, I didn’t realise you guys recorded videos so far ahead as they felt more chill than other creators but makes sense!

If you have any impressions that aren’t embargoed I’d love to hear them! Is it worth waiting for?

Hey all.

Got a little antsy and decided to reach out to Silverstone myself.

The following response was received from Silverstone Australia and directly pertains to stock in Australia. NA might get it before then but I have no indication of that.

HI Lucas,

Thanks for your contact, this new model is still yet available, the production schedule would be delayed to late Q2 for your reference.

Sadly means I’ll have to wait even longer for a budget solution to my currently scuffed setup.

Can’t wait to see if it lives up to my hopes.

Thanks for the info @Luckinber!

Hopefully we should get some reviews a bit sooner, as I’m very much interested in how well the case is able to keep a GPU cool whilst the front bays are populated vs. unpopulated. There’s also a bunch of small questions that I have, that hopefully will be answered.

I see you reopened this @wendell , does that mean you have news?

Sorry to get your hopes up Luckinber but the thread was reopened because I asked for it to be reopened.

Why it was closed in the first place though… *cue The X Files theme*

I want to believe!

The low sodium diet be damned! It’s time for a grain of salt…

I got fed up waiting for news so I emailed Silverstone Tek (using a fake name), to see whether I would have any luck asking about the availability of the CS383. In a previous comment in this thread, I mentioned a thread over on the TechPowerUp forums, where a commenter said they’d been told that the CS383 would be available toward the end of April… which clearly hasn’t happened. Perhaps they were told the date that stock would be sent out to retailers? Also, I’m in Europe but perhaps they were in a different region to me? Either way, take the following screenshot with a grain of salt or just enjoy the copium. Whatever works for you.

i have bin looking at this topic a while and i also got my eye on the CS383
i got right now a cs380v2
i got a email from silverstone asked when the cs383 wil be avaible in europe

"First delivery from factory is scheduled of arriving middle of June.

So I assume that SST-CS383 will be available at our dealers end of June.

Best regards,

Carsten Buss

Benefit of IcyDock is also having modern connectors. I just bought a 4 bay with two IcyDock MCIO cables. SFF 8643 gets a bit old when talking PCIe 4.0 and 5.0 connectivity. My stuff still has the OCulink connectors, but I use IcyDock MCIO → 2x OCulink cables. Really great for PCIe 5.0 future proofing or modern boards having MCIO on-board.

Competition is great…will drive prices down eventually. I pay the icydock premium for certified cables, solid build quality and wide range of accessories like extra trays and fitting cables. They even certify 3rd party fan replacements. Good support.

I used the Silverstone CS 381 for 3 years and am now migrating the server and future servers to 2U and 4U chassis to eventually put all my IT into a cabinet. Silverstone makes good stuff, but they really love putting screws EVERYWHERE. No latches or easy maintenance…just solve everything with a ton of screws. Great when you don’t upgrade/change much, but tedious if tinkering or upgrading.

I run 2x 2U RM23-502 Silverstone chassis now. Same amount of screws. Good stuff with caveat of screws.

The Silverstone website now lists the CS383:

yay some posetive news  cant wait to get my hands on it

this is going to be important not to forget when buying the radiator

What a power move on Silverstone’s part… Rockstar Games releases the second trailer for GTA VI, and Silverstone swoop right in and steal all of Rockstar’s thunder.
