Siberia v2 vs v2 Full-Size vs HyperX Cloud - for Gaming

I will try to make this as brief as possible…

I’m currently using Superlux HD681 Evo I bought as a budget headphones primary for music, but since I recently started with GO as a 1.6 veteran I need something really good that also has a good mic.

I saw v3 review and I decided to go either for v2 or HyperX Cloud.

I used to have classic v2 with USB sound card, as my sound card on old laptop was pretty crap and I LOVED them…

However I saw that there’s this new version of v2 called “full-size”, which is supposed to have better sound - sadly I haven’t found a solid review nor comparison between classic v2 and this full-size model, nor comparison between HyperX Cloud and v2

so I need a headset that I will use primarily for gaming (then for music), that is really awesome and has a great mic - I have great experience with v2 and it’s a best gaming headset I ever had without doubt, but I see a lot of great reviews for HyperX Cloud, so I am really confused…

is there anyone who had both of them and could give me a solid feedback? I’m playing mainly FPS games, so I need to know exact position based on footsteps and/or shots, which I did with v2, but then again, there’s this new “full-size” version of v2 and I have no freakin idea which one to go for

P.S.: what about that 7.1 sound card that was with classic v2? is it any good? I used it with old laptop and it did miracles, however I currently am on Asus G750JM (college student, I move a lot), so I have no idea if it will have positive effect (if any) on the sound

Thank you!

Without even a shadow of a doubt, HyperX cloud II. It beats the snot out of the siberia

thanks for the feedback...

not that I don't believe you, I just need at least some comparison between those 2 in a form of simple, yet constructive feedback on both... a simple statement like this doesn't matter to me at all... you didn't tell if you are just a fanboy or if you actually had both for long period of time nor what experience you had with both of them in case of comfort, sound and mic...

I've used both of em. I currently own one HyperX Cloud myself and really like it.

The Siberia V2 is pretty decent sounding compared to high-end headphones and other 'gaming' headsets. It's pretty clear and doesn't manipulate the sound too much. It performs best in the mid to high frequencies. For gaming the Siberia's are great(better than most other 'gaming' crap).

Now the HyperX Cloud, it's a rebranded QPad QH-90(Takstar Pro 80 like), which is a good thing. The best thing about the Cloud is the tight low frequencies. Mids are pretty good, the highs not so great. For music & movies the Cloud is a good headset. Another great thing to add is that I find the HyperX cloud more comfortable than the Siberia's. It's basically built like the Beyerdynamic DT's. And you also get allot of cables and small accessories with it.

Between those two, for gaming the Siberia's are a bit better(clearer soundstage). But if I have to recommend one, it will be the HyperX Cloud. It hasn't disappointed me at all and overall it's a better product(sound wise, but that is subjective, how you perceive the sound).

Hope this helps.

*edit: The HyperX mic is horrible though..

Used both of them and here is pretty much why I stuck to my cloud:

  • Tons more comfortable
  • Sounds better (IMO since I like myself some better bass)
  • Mic is lower quality but a non-issue with my sound card
  • Much better build quality, my last siberia V2 broke on me after a week and I was really careful with it
