Should I upgrade?

I have a 4670k currently and I'm kind of frustrated with the performance of it, my plan was to wait for broadwell to upgrade but I'm losing my patience. Is it worth it for me to upgrade to a E3-1230 V3? or is it better to wait? As for the 4770k, it's a bit on the expensive side for me.

What are you using it for? If it's just gaming, there's no reason to upgrade. If you use it for productivity... there's X99, but if the 4770k is too expensive for you, X99 certainly will be.

Yes gaming, there are a few games that are cpu bottle necked right now ( i have 2 r9 290's) I recently got the Gene VII so i have no plans to upgrade to the enthusiast platform.

I really doubt that a 4670k is bottlenecking two 290s. What games are you talking about and what resolution are you playing at, and what is the refresh rate of the monitor? Could you show some screen caps to prove that the cpu is maxing out while the gpus aren't during games and that you aren't getting good frame rates? Could it be screen tearing or something else and not low frame rates? It wouldn't really be helpful for us to help you fix a problem when it isn't the problem in the first place.

there is no Bottleneck. You maybe getting Performance issues cause of the GPU drivers, AMD has announced that there are too many issues with the Catalyst 14.9 Drivers (If you have that Driver installed) and they are planning to get it fixed soon.

No, Cpu is pinned at 100% when playing bf4 and my res is 2560 x 1440

I would say just wait til broadwell i mean i use to wanted to upgrade from my fx 6300 to a i7 4770K but i did not because i wanted to run Zelda twilight forest without lag but the i7 4770K still had problem running it meaning lag it was very annoying i realize that it would be better waiting oh also i was trying the games on my friend pc who has a i7 4770K so if i were you i would wait til broadwell

Yea I probably will just wait, Maybe ill go balls to the wall on the overclock and hope it lasts until broadwell.

Can you give some screen shots of the percent usages and frame rates?

The reason that I am trying to get some verification in order to accurately track down the source of your issues is because all of the information that I have found so far says that the i5 should be fine (especially if it is overclocked some). The difference here between the i5 and i7 here would get a whole lot smaller (next to nothing) when the resolution is upped and the gpu horsepower is taken down a little (from 295x2 to two 290s).
