Should I upgrade my PSU?

So I am currently running an A10-7850k, 1 HDD, 2 case fanes+1 CPU fan, mouse+kb.  I am going to get an R9 270X and I only have a 430W PSU.  Do I need to upgrade, or should I be fine?  I checked Asus and it said I should get 500W and I checked Exteme Outervision and it says I need 383W and MSI says 307W.

You will be perfectly fine adding one R9 270X, IF YOUR 430W POWER SUPPLY IS OF GOOD QUALITY.

What 430w power supply do you have?

//edit: Your profile says you have a CX430.  That will work just fine.

+1

I'm actually deciding to get the R9 270 instead for a few reasons:

- I can get it for ~$148 instead of ~$168

- OC it to performance of 270X

-My PSU (like you said, CX430), only has 1 6 pin and the 270X requires 2.  (so instead of buying a new PSU or using molex to 6 pin)

Thanks for the input guys.  Hopefully everything goes smoothly.  Do you guys think that my CPU OC (4.1 GHz, 1.325V) and the OC I will do on the 270 will cause any issues?

The R9 270 is the same GPU as the R9 270X.  It just has a lower clockspeed.  I would go with the R9 270 due to the price difference.

A 4.1ghz a10-7850k will work just fine with a R9 270.  I see no problems overclocking to 270X speeds either.

Awesome, thanks.

I have a A8-6600K that has been overclocked to 4.7 GHz CPU side and I ran it for a month at that speed with the CX430M and my MSI R9 270 no problem. I haven't ran at that speed because I like my lower temp of 25 C idle and about 40-50 load with stock clock. You should be perfectly fine.

EDIT: I had purchased the R9 270 because of the single 6 Pin requirement opposed to most R9 270X with two 6 Pins required to run it.

Awesome.  This is a relief; I would rather not purchase a new PSU.
