Should I pick this up? Or should I build my own?

Couldn't really find an apropriate forum for this post, but here is goes. I have been using my laptop to game for the past year and it is to the point where I can't improve my own performance(my score, K/D radio etc...). I have been playing Blacklight Retribution, minimal settings at around 20-35 fps with massive dips, Planetside 2 minimal settings 10-30 fps. I was perusing through Craigslist when I saw this. http://pensacola.craigslist.org/sys/3489006629.html    Should I buy this? What sort of offer should I make? Or should I just build my own? Im sure it is clear on what I want to do with this PC, game at high settings with smooth frame rates. I also wanted to address that I will need to purchase a monitor. I wasn't looking for something huge but I would like to keep the PC as a whole under $700. Thanks everyone at TekSyndicate. I love you guys. BurlyHeads

not bad not great but i would build one just becaue it is new

yeah build your own, do you have a bydget? also are you familer with building a pc, and finnaly do you plan playing theese games in 1080p?

Well turns out that this PC is already sold. Yes I do plan on playing games at 1080p. I would like to stay between $600-700 for the build including a monitor. If you could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Not sure if this allows for a monitor and OS but here is a good starting point.

for what your asking, at 1080p including a monitor can not be done under 700 dollars, your looking at $900 including the monitor

I really think you should build your own and upgrade your OS to windows 8 because it's never a good idea to get an older version of an OS. Also I think you'll be finebuilding it as long as you do your research and follow a guide on the internet my favourite guide is How to build a PC by Newegg they go into a lot details for newbees!

Hope it helped!

"never a good idea to get an older version of an OS" so how did vista pan out for ya?

Ok guys lets not get into the eternal Win 7 Vs Win 8 arguement. Thanks Evo, but I dont think that is quite within my budget. Im probably going to spend $600 for the pc. I can pick up a copy of Win 7 and a monitor from my computer repair friend. I'm not asking anyone to put together an absolute current build for $600, but some thing recent would be nice.

Yea, I was just trying to give you a starting point. Logan has a number of other videos that are less expensive. It all depends on who you purchase your parts from, what kind of sales you can find and so on. Let us know what way you decide to go, with what parts you have decided on and I’m sure everyone here will be more than willing to help along the way. All the best with your PC build.

Here Burly,
