i have thought about overclocking just a little, and at this point my cpu never goes higher than 39C so i think i have good headway. but the thing is i get smooth 60 fps in almost all my games, so i dont see that its nessecary to overclock... should i overclock?
Nope if your running everything fine dont bother adding complications.
What hardware do you have? I have returned my CPU to stock speeds, simply because I don't need it. I'll up the turbo frequency in the bios if I do anything intensive. No point overclocking if it is not needed, not worth the tradde-off with heat and power.

I agree, if you have overclockable parts and have a some knowledge on overclocking... GO FOR IT!
My gas pedal can easily be pushed to the floor, but that doesn't mean i'm going to haul ass every time the light turns green..
Overclocking if you don't need it is just insanity.
