This morning, I received a OnePlus One invite.
I've decided that if I will buy a smartphone now, I will buy the OnePlus. Currently, I'm on a generic flip phone, no data or anything like that. Do you guys think a smartphone is really worth getting?
Also, the other thing I've thought about doing is waiting for 64 bit phones. Would it be worth it to wait for those, or no?
Ideally I'd like fast responses as I have less than 24 hours left on the invite. If I buy it, any invites I receive will be given away on TekSyndicate.
I think smartphones are definitely worth getting. I don't think waiting for a 64 bit phone is worth it. At this point I'm not sure about stability and the lack of 64 bit phones out there at this point means that development in apps to utilize the new architecture is most likely still a thing of the distant future. How many apps even utilize multiple cores at this point or even need to in order to run properly/smoothly? If you are always waiting for the next big thing in smartphones you will never get a phone because they are changing so quickly.
That's a very very good point.
I have been thinking about it and I'm realizing there are a lot of things I could do with a smartphone. Like, I might actually be able to keep a planner in the calendar, which I can't stand doing with paper.
i concur with durangatang, but i'd suggest you Sony Z series (z, z1, z2, z3) .. Branded phones are not preferable but these beast run awesome (after some rooting and ROM flashing), awesome camera, waterproof too. i'm not saying the oneplus one is not a good phone, but having the waterproof feature of Sony is really handy in dire situations. i omit Samsung here cause they cheaply built, and much more difficult to unlock.
