So Christmas and my Birthday are coming up soon and i was looking at getting a 1440p monitor to use as a new main monitor and to use my old 1080p as a second monitor. So my questions are...
1.) Is my single 7850 enough for 1440p at around high settings for 60 fps.
2.) Should I sell the card I have and buy a newer card like a R9 280X [ Expensive ]
3.) Should I buy another 7850 for about 110$ [ Cheaper ]
no. that will destory your GPU. You will need atleast a hd7970(same as the 280x) or better if you can to get high settings.

You can use two 7850s at 1440p. You'll probably be disappointed with how they handle that resolution. You have to appreciate that crossfire (or SLI) doesn't scale brilliantly in every game. So it's going to prove problematic at any given resolution.
The best solution would be a 280x, or something similar.
buy a R9 290 if you can that will be more then enough at 1440p
+1 if you can afford a R9-280X then do it. ☺
Also a good option could be a 7950 if you can find one sale for cheap. But the 79xx cards are getting out of stock.
