Should I build a PC or Buy One?

Oh, snap!

8350

sabretooth 990fx

some nice fast ram, Ripjaws are killer,

for cooling  h100i

ssd of what ever

mechanical for storage

gpu 670, 680, 7970

if optical needed you can pick one up for under 20

psu nice 80+ bronze, gold etc modular is nice

for the a case a nice quality build case with nice cable management room

and still be on budget

only question I would ask is why not build? cheaper, gives you a new skill, pretty easy (if I can do it anyone can). you will definitely feel a sense of accomplishment when you finish your first build and itll bring you and your machine closer together

So.... Toast would this not make you cry!

I definitely like this build and price, so is there anything I should change improve? if not would this be a good final gaming PC build?

Well, there are a couple mistakes. You probably want a 256 gb ssd, and I'd really recommend the 680 I picked out, because it has one of the best cooling solutions out there. Get rid of the enermax and get the Dark Knight II, get rid of the SX910 and get an SX900, and get this ram - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231560

Fixed everything for you. If you want the red, just swap out for some other 16gb red ram that runs at 1866. But that ares is good stuff. Want it to be cheaper? Get a cheaper case.

I really like the EVGA 4gb 680, I have heard it cools better with backplate, how do I if this one includes a backplate? Also I was wondering should I use a liquid cooler like a kraken x40 or a heat sink?

The Asus has backplate. It's literally MADE for overclocking, so it has a killer fan setup, and a nice backplate on it to reduce temps.

As I understood you won't overclock your CPU, so there is no point for buying liquid cooler. Buy any big, cheap, silent air cooler (like evo 212). If you learn to overclock and there will be needs for it, you can always buy one in the future. Also I want to say, that investing 500$ to the video card for games is just stupid. After 1 (max 2) years that kind of potential card will cost a 150-200$. I'd better invest in a golden ring (or smthng like that) for girlfriend and have sex every night for a looooong time, then play on "maxed" settings. Unless in your house rains money. But I don't care if you buy it. GL with build ;)

So toast, this is what I came up with do you approve?

I can't see any reason to buy one. Building a PC is really not that difficult, and if your Dad will help you it should be fine :D you get much better value for money.

Couple of things...

I know a ton of people love G.Skill and a lot of people go a lot of years without any issues but I've heard of a ton of people who have gotten doa sticks and had horrible experiences... read some reviews and make your decision from those... (also unless you are rendering, editing, and making media content you don't need 16gb, 8gb is still absolutely perfect for gaming) (also you would be better with 8gb of 1866 cl9)

The Asus CUII top is a great card.  So is the EVGA FTW (It has the backplate) also you really don't need 4gb of vram a 2gb 680 would be just fine... actually more then fine it would be a beast.

The motherboard is a good board from what I've heard so are Asus equivalents.  But you're probably fine with that. (Look into what you need out of the board sli, crossfire, raid and so on)

The OCZ vertex4 is the fastest SSD on the market right now and is only $17 more then the one you're looking at so that is worth considering. (I think logan has some videos out there on that.)

EDIT: the Xigmatek Dark Knight Night Hawk edition is on sale right now for $35 it is a great cooler that you can overclock with pretty well.

Karaisk, I'm going to be doing a little bit of rendering so Im gonna stick with the same ram and I did switch the GPU and I'm also gonna stick with the kraken because I want the liquid cooler cuz I'm gonna try over clocking and I want my CPU to stay real cool.

this is what I came up with.

The GPU you listed will be a great one. I have the OC version (a step below the TOP) and it stays extremely cool even with the overclock I put on it. I have the case as well, it is very easy to work with and I'm glad I chose it for my first build. Good luck to you sir, should be fun.

Thanks so much night wing : )

Then might I suggest the h80i? Corsair does some great stuff.  But with all three of these (kraken, xigmatek, corsair) you'll be able to get a pretty solid overclock.  (I wouldn't recommend the Xigmatek if it was just an average aircooler... Logan uses it to take his i7 to 4.5ghz I believe)

But if you want to water cool (Which is understandable) then you probably have made a good choice.  Hope it works out for you!

EDIT: You'll still want the lower Cas Latency (CL) for your RAM no matter what brand you go with... (It seems like you aren't on too tight of a budget so it would really be worth it imo)

Just listen to toast please. As far as ram, the only real differences between brands is the cooling solutions. It's pretty much the same shit. But either way, everything toast has said is bueno.
