Go Newegg!!!

lol

That reminds me...I need to make sure I have everything ordered online for my pc before that damn sales tax law takes effect.

This is utterly ridiculous, why is this even legal, why are software patents legal. It makes no sense, like slide to unlock, would it make sense to patent the wheel no it wouldn't would it make sense to patent a specific design yes it would, so if some one steals the code and uses that it should be illegal but if some one writes different code that does the same function then its fine.

Yep - and as it was pointed out in the previous tek, slide to unlock isn't even a new idea  from apple; it's been around for a looooooonnnnnnnng time.. Deadbolts, chain locks etc.

I started writing this post saying that I think software patents should be allowed, but only if they are a new idea - a program with an entirely original function.. But then when I tried to think of examples, I couldn't. So I think you're probably right about what you said about the code.

The only software I can think of that should be patented is not because of the software - it's because the software interacts with hardware, so really, it's a hardware patent.
