Probably ordering the new Corsair 460x tempered glass by the weekend.
Inside ill be putting my 3570k with Noctua NH-D15 and zotac 1070. ( 5 mil to spare inside case for cpu cooler)
Curious on setting up fans though. It comes with 3 120 on the front and spots open to add 2x120/140 on the top. Would 2 exhaust fans be beneficial ? If so should I aim the noctua to exhaust out the back or out the top?
My preference would be to use three front 120s, two top 120s, and one rear 120, maybe with speed reducers/voltage droppers on the top and/or rear fans.
Regardless, if you desire a positive pressure case to minimize dust you will want more air going in than air going out, including the air just leaking out of vents!
I don't think orienting the NH-D15 horizontal or vertical will matter much. If it is more or less in line with the rear fan I'd probably have it blowing that way simply for aesthetics.
Using path of least resistance and basic thermal dynamic. I'd recommend the tower cooler parallel with the front intake and exhaust fans. You can add another 1 extra exhaust fan on top near the I/O.
I would keep the CPU cooler oriented perpendicular to the airflow to not disturb it and get better cooling. Also get another two fans to put into the top because that air cooler is literally giant (I own one myself too) and blocks most of the airflow extraction made by the fan on the back. When you set the RPM range for those (I guess you're going to pick all PWM fans) try to keep them spinning at lower RPMs than the one on the front to keep a bit of positive pressure.
im assuming budget is no issuse so i would use 2x 140mm on top, 1x 120 on back with these 3 being exhaust and 3 in front being intake all on lowest volume setting. noctua would be my personal choice.
